HuBMAP 2022 Annual Meeting

HuBMAP will host its fifth All-Hands Annual Meeting in person on May 17-19, 2022 at the Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla, California. The All-Hands Meeting will provide funded members the chance to meet one another in person, share their accomplishments, and learn about the future of HuBMAP. Thank you to the UCSD Female Reproductive System TMC for graciously hosting this meeting! The meeting will include presentations from all funded components, networking opportunities, and engaging breakout sessions.

How do I get to the meeting?

We will have shuttles from the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, Marriott La Jolla, and Sheraton La Jolla. The schedule is as follows:
  • Hilton pickup 8am each day
  • Marriott pickup 8:10am each day
  • Sheraton pickup 8:20am each day
There is only one pickup time for each hotel location, so if you intend to take advantage of the shuttle service then please be outside of your hotel on time each morning. The shuttles will also run back to the hotels at the end of each day. There is no parking available on site unless you require special accommodations. If you require parking, please email help@hubmapconsortium.org with a request. Other transportation options include walking, public transportation, or using a ride share service. There is a UCSD campus shuttle which services the Scripps Seaside Forum. It has stops on campus, within varying distances from the local hotels. You can check out the Triton Transit website for more information about the shuttle stops and schedule to see which stop is closest to your hotel.


Is there a virtual attendance option for this meeting?

There is no virtual option for this meeting. This is an in-person meeting only. Please note that all funded components of HuBMAP are expected to be represented at this meeting.


What other requirements are there for me and my group during the meeting?

All funded groups must give a 10-minute presentation. The template is available in the annual meeting google drive folder. All members must also prepare a 1-page mini poster to share during a networking session, for which there is also a template in google drive. During this mini poster session, members will be presenting their posters to each other, and will be holding their poster for the duration of the session. The posters may be printed on a single page, or presented on a laptop or tablet. Printing is not available at the venue. Other requirements for specific members will be communicated to them individually.


Are there any COVID-19 mitigation protocols in place for this meeting?

We are following the protocols put in place by University of California San Diego, as the host institution for this meeting. All UCSD COVID-19 protocol information can be found at https://returntolearn.ucsd.edu/. We are no longer requiring proof of vaccination for this meeting in line with UCSD protocol. However, we are strongly recommending masking indoors, and we recommend that members who are able to take a COVID test before arriving at the meeting please do so.

Do I need to register?

You must be registered to attend the meeting. Registration is closed. You will also need to pre-pay for food - you will receive an email about paying for food following your registration. You must pay for your food by 3pm ET on Tuesday, May 10.If you did not pay for food, it will not be provided to you at the meeting. Receipts for food payments will be provided to members at the meeting.
