Creating a Globus identity using an NIH eRA Commons id

To access HuBMAP data through Globus, you must have a Globus identity that is tied either to your institutional credentials or to your eRA Commons account. To create a Globus identity using your eRA Commons credentials, follow these steps:

Go to app.globus.org.

Choose eRA Commons from the drop-down and enter your eRA Commons username and password. You should see a screen like this one.

Choose Grant.

If you are successful, a login screen will open.

Choose Continue.

Fill in your information.

Confirm the sharing settings.

You will land in a File Manager screen.

Choose Account from the left.

Under the Identities tab, find your identity.

To request access to HuBMAP data in Globus

Edit your HuBMAP profile by going to https://profile.hubmapconsortium.org.

Under "Which HuBMAP resources will you need to access?" choose HuBMAP Data via Globus. Enter your Globus identity in the field on the right.

Click Update. A ticket will be created requesting that you be given access to Globus. When the request is processed, you will receive an email invitation to Globus.
