Beta release instructions were sent out earlier today to stakeholders responsible for reviewing data. Please direct feedback toward the survey included in the email. Please send email to help@hubmapconsortium.org for issues with missing or incorrect data as early as possible.
I adore the fact that I can read papers on BioRxiv before they come out on PubMed or in their journals, but how can I find important HuBMAP articles with a simple search?
Sincerely,
Reading Is Fun!
Dear Knowing is Half the Battle,
I hear you! You want to be able to find the HuBMAP papers without having to search through all of the authors of HuBMAP. Fortunately, I have just the solution for you!
In addition to my advice columnist duties, I also am the channel manager for HuBMAP on BioRxiv. Thus, if anyone has a paper that will be, is, or has ever been on BioRxiv, please let me know, and I will tag it so that it will come up when you search for ‘HuBMAP’.
Or, if you don’t want to let me know directly, please list your upcoming paper in the Publication Tracker and then I will check there to see what new exciting results we have coming through the pipeline.
Sincerely,
I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie
HIVE Demo Day Registration
Hosted by Indiana University
HIVE Demo Day (open to all consortium members): September 21-22, 2020
The agenda and general information can be foundhere.
Watch for Zoom links and a call for posters and/or recorded demos as the date of the event approaches.
The Hackathon focused on identification of cell types has been postponed until later this year. Stay tuned for me details.
The next Cell Atlas Curation Working Group call will be held on August 11 at 10am Eastern. Link to Zoom.
In addition to continuing our discussion of donor and sample metadata fields, we will follow up on action items discussed at the July 28th call, as documented in the Running Notes.
Steering Committee Co-Chair Nominations
Mike and Jonathan's term as co-chairs of the Steering Committee will come to an end in November. NIH has received a number of nominations for the next co-chairs.
If you would like to submit a nomination, please send details to Richard Conroy (Richard.Conroy@nih.gov) by close of business on August 4.
Job Opportunities:
HuBMAP Postdoc Position
The Department of Intelligent Systems Engineering at Indiana University, Bloomington, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow join an interdisciplinary research team working on an ambitious national effort to create a detailed map of all the cells within the human body—the NIH funded Human BioMolecular Atlas Program (HuBMAP). The postdoctoral fellow will help identify and catalog knowledge about the structure of the vascular pathways in the human body (arteries, veins, capillaries, and lymph vessels). This will be conducted primarily through a literature search to find (1) descriptions of the named vascular pathways and microvascular architecture in different organs of the body; (2) descriptions of the variability of the vascular system across different individuals; (3) imaging studies that show the physical 3D structure of vascular pathways; and (4) studies that identify biomolecular signatures unique to different parts of the vascular system, such as how gene expression varies in endothelial cells across the body. The postdoctoral fellow should have a background in human anatomy or related fields such as systems biology, cell biology, radiology, or pathology.
The position is for 12 months initially and can start as soon as August 2020 (negotiable).
If you have questions or wish to apply, please contact Prof. Katy Borner, katy@indiana.edu
Use ‘HuBMAP-Postdoc’ insubject header.
