Want to feel more connected to the universe? Cast your mind to the lightsheet microscopy images from HuBMAP researcher Seth Currlin from Mark Atkinson's group at TMC-University of Florida, as he asks "does biology recapitulate astronomy?" and compares proteins in human spleen to NASA and European Space Agency images of nebula in the Image of the Week. NASA pictures (2,3,4), HuBMAP pictures (1, 5, 6) cyan = endothelia, yellow = cholinergic axons, red = axons.

Member Portal Facelift
As outlined during the Annual All-Hands Meeting a few weeks ago, the IEC has
reorganized the Member Portal (formerly known as the Collaboration Portal).
The new Member Portal features a more intuitive quick links menu and has reorganized content into three primary categories:
1) Members, 2) Data Providers, 3) Developers. Our intention is to make it easier to find frequently accessed documents and resources. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new Member Portal. If there is anything that is missing or would be helpful to have included on these new pages, please

Are You Missing
We occasionally receive emails from members indicating that they did not get meeting notifications or cancellations. Often, this is the result of someone not being on a working group email list. If it seems like you have been missing a few notifications lately, please send us an emailand let us know which working group you haven't been getting updates about. We'll ensure that you've been added to the lists!

OME 2021 Community Meeting
The Open Microscopy Environment produces open tools to support data management for microscopy.
As last year, they will hold the OME 2021 Community Meeting in a virtual format due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They aim to provide inspirational, guiding content from several speakers and hold discussion sessions for meeting participants to outline the current status and future directions for the topics addressed on each day of the meeting.
HuBMAP PIs Katy Börner and Nils Gehlenborg have been invited to speak.
