RFI on National Strategic Computing Reserve
The Request for Information (RFI) on Potential Concepts and Approaches for a National Strategic Computing Reserve (NSCR) was just released by NITRD, through NSF, and in collaboration with OSTP and the NSTC’s Future Advanced Computing Ecosystem Subcommittee.
The RFI requests information from interested parties on the goals, value, and necessary approaches for establishing a NSCR. The NSCR may be envisioned as a coalition of experts and resource providers that could be mobilized quickly to provide critical computational resources (including compute, software, data, and technical expertise) in times of urgent need. This RFI will help OSTP and the FACE and NITRD Subcommittees with the potential design of a NSCR effort.
The RFI is available here. The closing date is January 16, 2021.
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
The Environmental Molecular Sciences Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks for an outstanding candidate for a postdoctoral position working on projects associated with biological applications of high throughput and quantitative proteome mapping of tissue heterogeneity of the pancreas at near single-cell resolution.
Immediately following the HuBMAP Steering Committee call (Monday, January 11 @ 2PM) the monthly Sci/Tech webinar will take place. Additional information on the presenters and a calendar invite will be sent later this week.
This year, the Internal Sci-Tech Webinars will serve as a platform for the consortium collaborative projects to provide project updates to our membership. In an effort to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to speak and to distribute the speakers for project timelines, we've assigned each group with a Sci-Tech Webinar speaking slot. The full schedule can be found here. *Please reference the schedule to see when your group is presenting.*
